TESTING & FAULT SCENARIOS

Integrated Systems Testing (IST) is at the heart of effective data centre commissioning.

 

While component testing confirms individual equipment performance, IST validates how systems interact during real operating scenarios.

A MULTI-STAGE JOURNEY

Level 1 (L1) - Design Review & Verification

Design peer reviews confirm compliance with the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), identify single points of failure, and verify that resilience, redundancy, and maintainability are embedded in the design.

Level 2 (L2) - Factory & Off-Site Testing

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) verifies that critical equipment is manutactured, configured, and tested in accordance with specifications prior to delivery to site.

​

Level 3 (L3) - Installation Verification & Quality Assurance Site inspections and checks confirm correct installation, workmanship quality, and readiness for energisation and start-up.

​

Level 4 (L4) - Start-Up & Functional Performance Testing Start-up and functional testing verify that individual systems and subsystems operate safely, independently, and in accordance with design intent across all normal operating modes.

Level 5 (L5) - Integrated Systems Testing (IST)

End-to-end testing validates full system integration, fault tolerance, and performance under normal, degraded, and failure scenarios, confirming true operational resilience.

System Handover & Operational Readiness

Structured handover provides training, documentation, and verified test evidence to ensure operations teams are fully prepared for day-one and ongoing operation.

This structured approach reduces late-stage surprises and ensures a smooth transition to operations.
